1. How to install the SmartSwitch™?

Depend on your layout plan, you can follow below charter to
install the “ SmartSwitch™. |
You can either use toggle or push button as shown in figure C and D.
Then follow the following step 3 through 6.

Connect to 12V DC or DCC power supply. No need to worry about polarity. Connect
the servo cable to SmartSwitch™control chip. |

Install toggle switch or push button. Corresponding toggle switch or push button controlscorresponding servo. |

Install a servo onto a servo mount. |

Install control wire and secure servo mount. |

Optional. Install indication light for control panel or trackside signal light. No need
to use resistor. |

Optional. Install SmartFrog™ for short circuit free power routing. |

Optional. Install Smart decoder for DCC operation. |

Optional. Install manual switch to change between push button and DCC operation
mode. |
2.How to use the SmartFrog to control the Viessmann 4018 signal?
The SmartFrog LED output is with two positive poles and one common negative pole, while the Viesmann 4018 signal needs two negative poles and one common positive pole. That is the reason that we can’t use the SmartFrog to control the Viessmann 4018 signal directly.
If you want to use the SmartFrog to control the Viesmann 4018, you need to add an common positive pole circuit board at the SmartFrog LED output.
The circuit diagram is shown as below,
When you increase this circuit board, connect the black wire of the 4018 to the common positive pole. Connect the yellow and red wires to the negative pole A & negative pole B. Now you can use the SmartSwitch and the SmartFrog to control Viessmann 4018 signal.
3.How to select the SmartSwitch to match your request?
- If you don’t play DCC, choose the SmartSwitch™ A001.
- If you don’t Play DCC and you want to install the point track power routing, choose the SmartSwitch™ A002 set.
- If you want to use your DCC command station to control your turnout and animation, choose the SmartSwitch™ A003 set.
- If you want to use your DCC command station to control your turnout and you want to increase the point track power routing, please choose the SmartSwitch™ A004 complete set.
- If you want to play large scale model train, you can choose SmartSwitch™ Jumbo set to control your turnout.
- If you want to install the point track power routing and increase auto detect function on your loop turnout, please choose the SmartFrog™ Version II.
