AP004 stationary decoder is belong to SmartSwitch slow motion turnout machine. It design for SmartSwitch only. But we have received a lot of model that that want to purchase this decoder for KATO N and HO scale turnout. So we develop another device that it can connect AP004 Stationary decoder and control KATO turnout. We call it AP004-SD.


AP004-SD support to control 4 turnouts in one set. It’s very easy to control and setting the address. Just follow our step and your can control your layout easy and smooth.


We have tested our AP004-SD with different brand DCC command station, ESU ECoS, Marklin CS2 (DCC version), MRC, NCE, Digitrax DCS200, DCS240 and our LD101 dual mode command station.


Special notes are as follows,



  1. No matter connect AP004-SD or not, KATO turnout accept manual control. It will not influence turnout performance.

  2. Small PCB is AP004 and it has a push button for address CV setting. It has a green SMD LED to display AP004 is working or not. When this green SMD LED flashing, It can program the address CV.

  3. Bigger PCB is a extension board to connect KATO turnout. This board also has two LED. One is the breathing light, it tell you this device is working. Another LED is display turnout signal transmission. When you switch the turnout, you can see it light on and off.

  4. This AP004-SD operation procedure is the same with AP004 stationary decoder. It just offer more function to control KATO turnout. Please follow AP004 stationary decoder manual to adjust decoder address and control your layout well.
