The DR2700 diesel railcar has 31 stainless steel diesel railcar purchased by the Taiwan railway administration from the Japan Tokyu car corporation.
The power car number starts with DR2700. The DR2750 trailer has since the DR2750 began, and the DR2750 trailer has been scrapped to reduce the burden of the car.
DR2700 also call GuangHua and running in western main line in beginning. Its main the record for the fastest train in the west and up to 110 km/h. The stainless steel body with black steam train form sharp contrast, thus gained the title of "White steel train". After the completion of the western railway electrification in 1979,
Tze-Chiang Limited Express train replaced the Guanghua. So the DR2700 diesel express train was changed to the North-link Line, and the area north of the western main line.
The front end was silver and had a train head-mark when used early as the Guanghua. On March 8, 1981, after the accident of 1002 Tze-Chiang Limited Express train, the front end of the DMU and EMU was painted with warning colors except the DR2100~2400 series. So the DR2700 front end became the current yellow.
There are archways in the carriage with metal trim panels, internal heat sinks and exhaust pipes, and radiators on the roof, which are the most distinctive features of the car.
October 22, 1966 : test drive for the first time between Taipei and Kaohsiung
October 31, 1966 : DR2700 travels the western route with the name Guanghua.
Aug. 15, 1978 : record of the change before the completion of the electrochemical process: the north height of the sea line was 5 hours and 08 minutes in train number 2003, and 5 hours and 10 minutes in train number 2002.
July 14, 1979: the last train of the western main line Guanghua, and the next day, the express train will be moved to the Taipei to Suao region.

September 1, 1988: Taiwan Railway Administration abolished the rate of the express train, and the train of this type of vehicle was changed to the ordinary train rate.
March 18, 1991: Start to operate the Houli to Douliu diesel express.
The DR2700 was used to travel between Keelung – Zhongli. The general group was three to four cars. There was a drive of the pingtung line, mainly in Kaohsiung to Pingtung, and another to the Fangliao. In 1991 Chinese lunar new year vacation, DR2700 also support East coast line to Hualian and charge ordinary ticket.
EMU400 replace the introduction of its northern range commuter trains, then change to the central of Taiwan commuting job. Mainly in the Houli to Douliu express train.
After the EMU500 coming, DR2700 began to transfer to the southern and eastern routes in 1996. The linkou line was driven by DR2700, and it was only after the completion of DR2510 that it withdrew from the linkou line.
The DR2700 ends with a stage on the east line between Hualian to Taidong as a diesel ordinary car (now incorporated into an ordinary car). DR2700 after eastern railway electrification to traffic on July 16, 2014, no longer operation fixed shift regular line, TRA iron pick up eight of them better dynamic preservation, in perfect condition as a charter, cruise train don't travel on a regular basis
